While the faucet and toilet use similar basin tap water supply lines, the two appliances require a slightly different approach. The faucet's supply pipe is 1/4-inch tubing, and the refrigerator's ice maker uses 1/4-inch compression fittings. Then, the faucet connects to an angle stop valve that has a 3/8-inch compression thread. For the toilet, the fill valve is threaded and accepts a 7/8-inch nut.
